Training
Barbora is a COSRT-registered Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist with extensive professional training in psychosexual therapy, trauma-informed practice, and somatic approaches. Her work focuses on helping individuals and couples understand and shift patterns of disconnection, and rebuild intimacy in a way that feels safe, grounded, and meaningful.
She holds a Diploma in Integrative Psychosexual Therapy from the College of Psychosexual Health in London and has been practising in the UK since 2018. Prior to this, she trained and worked in Denmark, where her focus included mindfulness-based and systemic approaches, which continue to inform her integrative way of working.
Her ongoing professional development is informed by leading voices in the field, including Esther Perel, Bessel van der Kolk, and Dr Dan Siegel.
Approach
Barbora is a Couples and Psychosexual Therapist with over ten years of clinical experience supporting individuals and couples with relationship difficulties. Her work focuses on the intersection of intimacy, attachment, and trauma, particularly where patterns of emotional disconnection, sexual difficulty, or relational distress feel difficult to understand or shift.
Barbora works from an integrative, trauma-informed and somatic perspective, recognising that these patterns are shaped across emotional, psychological, and bodily experience. Her approach is collaborative, focused, and grounded in nervous system awareness, supporting clients to deepen understanding, shift relational patterns, and restore a sense of connection in a way that feels safe and sustainable.
Trauma Therapy
Barbora specialises in working with trauma and its impact on emotional, relational, and physical wellbeing, including developmental, relational, and single-incident trauma. She supports clients in understanding how past experiences may continue to shape current patterns of thinking, feeling, relating, and responding in the body.
Rather than focusing only on symptom reduction, therapy supports deeper integration, supporting you to reconnect with your body, restore a sense of safety, and develop greater choice and agency in how you respond to yourself and others. Barbora’s work is informed by training in Interpersonal Neurobiology, which gives a deeper understanding of the connection between brain, body, and relationships.
The work may include body-based awareness, mindfulness, breathing techniques, and the gentle exploration of emotional and relational patterns, always at a pace that feels manageable and respectful. The aim is to support a shift from coping or “surviving” towards feeling more connected, grounded, and able to engage in life and relationships with greater ease, resilience, and confidence.
Couples and Relationships
Couples therapy provides a structured and focused space to understand what is happening between you and why patterns of disconnection keep repeating. Barbora works with couples to identify the underlying dynamics that shape communication, emotional closeness, and intimacy. This often includes recurring cycles of conflict, withdrawal, or misunderstanding that leave both partners feeling unheard, disconnected, or stuck.
The work is both collaborative and directed. Alongside creating space for each partner to be heard, you will be offered clear guidance to help you recognise patterns, take responsibility for your part, and begin to shift how you relate to one another.
The focus is on developing more constructive ways of communicating, and on expressing needs, boundaries, vulnerabilities, and desires in a way that supports emotional safety, mutual respect, and deeper connection.
This may include working with emotional disconnection, communication difficulties, differences in sexual desire, the impact of past experiences, or challenges in rebuilding trust and intimacy.
Sexual and intimacy issues
A fulfilling intimate life is closely connected to feeling safe, relaxed, and present in both body and mind. Psychosexual therapy offers a confidential, non-judgemental space to explore difficulties that may feel uncomfortable, confusing, or isolating. The focus is on understanding the underlying emotional, psychological, and relational dynamics, rather than only addressing symptoms.
Areas of work may include:
The impact of trauma, including feelings of loneliness, disconnection, and frustration
Anxiety and panic, particularly in relation to intimacy and relationships
Relationship and communication difficulties
Compulsive sexual behaviours, including pornography use
Difficulties with arousal, erection, ejaculation, or orgasm
Vaginismus, dyspareunia, and other pain-related conditions
Loss of desire
Sexuality and illness, including cancer-related changes
The aim is to support you in developing a more connected, informed, and fulfilling relationship with yourself and with others. Barbora helps individuals and couples understand and shift patterns of disconnection, and rebuild intimacy in a way that feels safe, grounded, and meaningful.
