Anxiety and Depression

Jonathan offers a warm, supportive space for people struggling with anxiety and depression. He helps with many types of anxiety, including constant worrying, social anxiety, panic attacks, health anxiety, and obsessive thoughts. He also supports those feeling overwhelmed by eco-anxiety, climate change concerns, and the stress of the cost-of-living crisis. By understanding the root of these feelings, Jonathan works with clients to build healthier ways to cope and feel more in control.

Depression can feel heavy and isolating, and Jonathan provides a safe place to talk openly about sadness, low energy, self-doubt, or hopelessness. He helps clients find their strengths, reconnect with what matters to them, and rediscover hope, even when life feels uncertain.

Jonathan tailors his approach to each person’s needs, offering emotional support through genuine connection and understanding. He believes that healing comes from self-understanding, kindness towards oneself, and feeling truly heard. By working together, Jonathan helps clients build resilience, gain confidence, and take steps towards a more balanced and fulfilling life, no matter what challenges they face.

Addiction

Jonathan works with individuals facing addiction using a holistic approach that considers the whole person - mind, emotions, and environment. Recognising that addiction is often shaped by a combination of biological, psychological, and social factors, Jonathan helps clients explore how their emotional well-being, past experiences, and current life circumstances contribute to their struggles with addictive behaviours.

Through compassionate, non-judgemental support, Jonathan works with clients to uncover the root causes of their addiction, such as trauma, unresolved emotions, or chronic stress. The focus is on building self-awareness, developing healthier coping strategies, and strengthening self-worth. Clients are encouraged to identify triggers, explore underlying emotional patterns, and find practical ways to manage cravings and challenging situations.

While Jonathan may integrate elements of the 12-step model when it aligns with the client’s needs, the approach is always personalised, ensuring that each individual receives support tailored to their unique journey. Sessions provide a safe space for clients to express themselves openly, gain insight into their behaviours, and work towards breaking free from the cycle of addiction. As such, Jonathan helps empower clients to achieve lasting change and build a more balanced, rewarding life.

Family Issues

Jonathan provides a compassionate, supportive environment for individuals navigating relationship challenges, emotional struggles, and the lasting impact of difficult life experiences. With a deep understanding of relational trauma, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and family dynamics, Jonathan helps clients explore how past and present relationships shape their emotional well-being and patterns of connection. This approach empowers individuals to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the barriers that may be holding them back.

Jonathan specialises in supporting those who have grown up with emotionally unavailable caregivers or narcissistic parents, as well as those affected by childhood adversity. These early experiences can lead to challenges such as low self-worth, difficulties trusting others, perfectionism, or struggles with boundaries. In addition to healing from the past, Jonathan works with clients facing current family relationship issues, such as conflict, communication breakdowns, or navigating complex family roles.

Sessions are tailored to each person’s unique needs, offering a safe space to process emotions, identify personal strengths, and explore healthier ways of relating to both oneself and others. The focus is on empowering clients to break free from unhealthy patterns, build emotional resilience, and cultivate more fulfilling relationships and a stronger sense of self.
